4th Year Secondary pupils have formed part of a project designed to improve the Reading comprehension for Secondary and Baccalaureate students.
The first contribution has been through ISTART, a program developed by the laboratory of Learning Sciences and Educative Technology of the Arizona State University, directed by Dr. Daniella McNamara in collaboration with the investigation team ERA-Lectura (University of Valencia directed by Dr.Eduardo Vidal-Abarca, and integrated by the teachers and the training staff of the Universities of Valencia, Salamanca, Oviedo, Pais Vasco, Zaragoza y Barcelona.
The second contribution has been through SUM-UP, a software that is under development and is directed at practising summary writing, which in turn improves a student’s comprehension abilities.
On behalf of Iale’s Psychology department and the area of Spanish Language, we would like to transmit our thanks to ERI-Lectura investigation team for providing these tools for the benefit of our students.
Aswell as this, we feel very satisfied with the level of implication and motivation that 4th Year Secondary students have shown throughout this process, and we are very confident that the results will be satisfactory for all of us.
