In Y3 we have really enjoyed seeing concepts we are studying in real life. We learned about the process of creating tiles, the basis of our province’s economy, and artificial elements of the landscape such as a quarry or the Sitjar dam.
This week Vives Azulejos y Gres received a visit from the young students of the Elians school in Castellón, as part of their education outside the classrooms.
Split into two groups, the students toured the facilities of Vives accompanied by our technical staff. Throughout the visit, the students were able to discover first-hand the process of manufacturing a ceramic tile, from the pressing of the earth to the firing, cutting and storage of the tiles. Despite their young age, the students were very interested in the entire ceramic process.
With this visit, Vives hopes to have brought the reality of the ceramic industry of Castellón closer to future generations.
Thank you to Cerámicas Vives for teaching us so much and for the warm welcome. It was a wonderful day!
