Our school, captained by the Year 6 Primary students, will participate in a project focused on collecting used portable batteries and accumulators promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment, Climate Change and Rural Development “BERTO ZAMPAPILAS”.

This project aims to raise awareness about the importance of recycling batteries and not throw them away as they are dangerous to the environment.

The challenge will be to collect, in the container that will be at the entrance by the secretary, the maximum amount of portable batteries and accumulators from students and their families and school staff during the FOUR WEEKS of the competition that began yesterday January 9th and ends on February 6th.

The school that receives the most batteries in proportion to the number of students will receive a prize to buy educational or sport related resources for school activities.

Yesterday, the founders of the campaign gave a theatrical presentation of the story of Berto Zampapilas (the campaign mascot), as well as information related to what we can do with our used batteries.

We encourage all our students and their families to actively participate in the campaign, bring their  used batteries into school and protect our environment… and why not?… We would love to win the contest and receive such an important prize for the school!
